DOLE employee shot dead in Manila

A woman labor officer was shot dead by persons riding in tandem in Manila, according to the report of Dano Tingcungco on Saksi.

Ellen Dacanay was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Dacanay was assigned at the Manila Field office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Her lawyer-companion, meanwhile, survived the attack.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III condemned the killing of Dacanay.

He appealed for the swift action of authorities to capture the suspects. — BAP, GMA News
