Barangay in Manila hands out 'home quarantine pass' to families

A barangay in Manila is handing out a "home quarantine pass" to every family amid the enhanced community quarantine implemented in Luzon.

In a Facebook post, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Erick Lat shared a photo of the pass which will be issued to every household in Barangay 775 in Santa Ana, Manila.

The pass is transferable to any member of the family and should be carried when buying food and medicine outside the home.

"Kung wala tayong pass, huhulihin po tayo kung tayo ay lalabas ng bahay," Lat said in the caption.

The pass is currently under production and will be distributed by the barangay officials.

Strict home quarantine is implemented under the enhanced community quarantine declared by President Rodrigo Duterte. Public mass transport has been suspended and residents may only leave their homes to get supplies. 

As of Wednesday, the Philippines has 202 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with 17 deaths. --MGP, GMA News
