Valenzuela sets up isolation centers vs. COVID-19
The city government of Valenzuela has set up modular tents and military cot beds in two isolation centers to handle cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a tweet, Mayor Rex Gatchalian on Wednesday expressed his hope that the items will remain unused.
"[W]e prepared for anything that may come our way. DILG instructed us so we followed [...] Sana 'wag na magamit ang mga eto," he said.
However, the Valenzuela City Health Office City on Thursday confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the city.

The two centralized isolations centers -- the Balai Banyuhay and the Valenzuela City Astrodome -- have also been disinfected and sealed.
"We now have two Central Isolation Centers. Disinfected, set up and, in a couple of hours, sealed," Gatchalian said.
According to a tweet, Balai Banyuhay is the city's new and unused drug rehabilitation center in Barangay Punturin that can accommodate more than 100 beds.
