Baesa crematorium staff empathize with relatives of deceased COVID-19 patients
The staff personnel of Quezon City's Baesa Crematorium on Wednesday sympathize with relatives of deceased coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients.
According to Saleema Refran's report on 24 Oras, due to the time pressure, the bodies are no longer embalmed or cleaned.
The bodies are only wrapped in cloth and placed inside a cadaver bag.
The deceased are also cremated with no ceremony, leaving their families no chance to say their goodbyes.
"Yung mga dinadala po dito may mga family po. Nakakaawang pagsabihan sila an i-tabi muna nila, lumayo sila, kasi diba parang iba 'yung pakiramdam po," Baesa Crematorium supervisor Paolo Hipolito said.
"Pag sila 'yung nag-grieve sila, yung pakiramdam nila, tapos kailangan nation palayuin para lang soon sa safety measures an sinasabi po natin, 'yung protocols," he added.
As of present, the establishment has cremated 31 bodies. -- Joahna Lei Casilao/BAP, GMA News
