Man shot dead on EDSA amid Luzon quarantine
An unidentified man was shot dead along the northbound lane of the Service Road on EDSA corner Aurora Boulevard in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon, the police said.
The police, citing eyewitness accounts, said the victim was shot at about 1:40 p.m. by an unidentified gunman riding a motorcycle.
“While [the] victim was walking there, an unidentified male person on board [a] motorcycle armed with unknown handgun suddenly shot the victim, causing the victim's death,” the police said.
“Thereafter, the gunman fled towards EDSA northbound,” it added.
The victim, according to Rod Vega's report on Dobol B sa News TV, he report added, was wearing a white T-shirt, khaki shorts and shoes. He had a backpack and a towel was wrapped around his head.
The crime took place even as the entire Luzon was under enhanced community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The measure banned mass transport and stopped work to prevent mass gathering. --Llanesca T. Panti/KBK, GMA News
