Devotees who visited Quiapo Church on Good Friday told to go home

Police officers informed devotees who had planned to visit the Quiapo Church on Good Friday that the church was closed due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.

According to a GMA News' COVID-19 bulletin, the devotees then attempted to gather along roads and closed establishments near the church.

However, authorities insisted on breaking up the gathering and everyone was told to leave and attend an online mass at home instead.

Meanwhile, though the Redemptorist Church in Baclaran was open to visitors, authorities in the area implemented a "no face mask, no entry" policy.
