A 95-year-old man has been discharged from a hospital in Mandaluyong City after recovering from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Mayor Menchie Abalos announced Sunday.

Cresencio Junio was previously admitted at the Mandaluyong City Medical Center, according to a Facebook post by Abalos.

As he was being discharged, Junio held up a sign that read: “I’m a 95 y/o COVID survivor!”

The patient was sent off with a round of applause from the medical and local government staff as he exited the hospital.

As of Saturday afternoon, Mandaluyong had recorded 150 COVID-19 cases with 16 deaths and 20 recoveries.

Over 400 other Mandaluyong residents were suspected COVID-19 cases.

Nationwide, the disease has killed 297 patients and infected over 4,000 people. — DVM, GMA News
