The Ninoy Aquino Stadium, which has been converted into a quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients, sent home its first survivor on Monday.

The 112-bed Ninoy Aquino Stadium was completed in less than a week by private partners Prime BMD and Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. of the Razon Group.

The makeshift quarantine facility accepts COVID-19 positive patients with mild or no symptoms.

Aside from the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, other venues that are ready to accept patients are the Philippine International Convention Center Forum Halls and World Trade Center in Pasay City, the ASEAN Convention Center in Clark, Pampanga, and the National Government Administrative Center and the Athletes’ Village in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Sports Arena in Pasig City, Philippine Arena in Bulacan, and Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa are expected to be finished soon.

As of Tuesday, the Philippines has reported a total of 6,599 cases of COVID-19, including 437 fatalities and 654 recoveries. -NB, GMA News
