P408,000 suspected shabu seized, 7 drug suspects nabbed in Caloocan buy-bust
Some P408,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized from seven drug suspects arrested in a buy-bust operation in Maypajo, Caloocan City on Thursday afternoon.
On Friday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) identified the suspects as Rommel Alano, Mark Anthony Adao, Maricel Alano, Richard Miranda, Jane Manalo, Ramiro Cruz, and a 16-year-old student.
In a separate Unang Balita report by James Agustin, police said couple Rommel and Maricel Alano were the main targets of the operation.
"Parang one-stop shop na rin ito eh, pag doon ka bumili, doon ka na rin gagamit. Ito 'yung mag-asawa, kung mapapansin natin kahit dito sa mga transaction at maliban doon sa pagkakabili ng pusher-buyer, sila talaga 'yung responsable," said Police Captain Ramon Aquiatan Jr., chief of the Northern Police District - Drug Enforcement Unit.
Aquiatan also noted that two of the suspects, Miranda and Cruz, were barangay volunteers.
Seized from the suspects were one small plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, 12 pieces of medium-size transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing scale, two tooter glass, an aluminum foil strip, one rolled aluminum foil, two disposable lighters, two mobile phones, and boodle money.
The suspects will be facing charges for violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs); Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs); Section 13 (Pot Session) and Section 26 (Conspiracy) under Article ll of Republic Act No. 9165.—AOL, GMA News
