The Ospital ng Malabon will temporarily stop accepting non-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients starting April 30 after four health workers tested positive for the illness, Mayor Antolin Oreta said Wednesday.

In a Facebook post, Oreta said the hospital will have to scale down operations to make way for the disinfection of facilities, contact tracing and testing of its health workers.

However, Oreta said the hospital’s emergency room, laboratory and radiologic section will remain open for out-patients.

He said those who exhibit symptoms will undergo swab testing and will be isolated immediately in their quarantine facilities.

Meanwhile, Oreta added that the Amphitheater or the medical management area will remain operational to manage suspected and probable COVID-19 cases in the city.

Oreta said the hospital is expected to resume full operations on May 7, depending on the health workers’ test results from the Department of Health.

-NB, GMA News
