Mandaluyong to implement total lockdown in Barangay Addition Hills
The local government of Mandaluyong City has decided to place Barangay Addition Hills under total lockdown, its mayor said.
In a Facebook post late Monday night, Mayor Menchie Abalos said the total lockdown would begin on May 7 and would last for a week.
So far, Mandaluyong City has 418 confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases with 82 recoveries and 36 fatalities. Barangay Addition Hills has 57 COVID-19 cases.
Abalos said during the period of the total lockdown, the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) would conduct random rapid testing among 3,000 residents.
She also ensured that food packs would be distributed to residents before the implementation of the total lockdown.
Abalos said the local government is also studying the possibility of placing other areas, which have a huge number of COVID-19 cases, under total lockdown.
