DDS or Dilawan? Don't use me in your politics, says Vico Sotto

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Tuesday said he doesn't care about politics tagging people as DDS or Dilawan, adding he's too busy with his work in his city to bother with national spats.

Interviewed on “Quarantined with Howie Severino,” Sotto said while political opponents would tend to highlight that he is not 100 percent aligned with the current administration, he said he is still doing his job as mayor of Pasig.

“Pero ako naman para sa akin wag din nila ako gamitin. Whether kakampi ka or kalaban ka ng presidente, 'wag nyo akong gamitin sa pulitika, pulitika n'yo kasi ako dito nagtatrabaho ako sa Pasig eh and I've been... we've been working so hard here in our LGU,” Sotto said.

He reiterated that he is not interested in national politics.

"Ako wala akong pakialam sa pulitika nila na national eh whether DDS, dilawan... I don't pay any attention to that because I have work to do. Hindi ako pwedeng mamulitika dito," he said.

“Again I really don't care much further in national politics at this point because I have... kumbaga there's a lot on my plate already. Hindi na para makisawsaw ako sa national politics,” Sotto added.

When asked if he considers himself a political ally of Duterte, Sotto said he is more independent.

However, whether he is an ally or in opposition, Sotto said it should be “irrelevant” and just focus on work. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/JST, GMA News
