Foldable bikes now allowed on LRT1

Bicycle riders may now bring along their foldable bikes along inside Light Rail Transit (LRT) 1 trains.

According to Ian Cruz’ report on “24 Oras” on Monday, the implementation of social distancing measures inside trains has opened up more space for riders and their bicycles.

‘yun nga lang pila,” commuter and biker Elmer Sabulao said.

However, commuters had to wait over an hour and a half in line before finally boarding the train.

Only 158 passengers are allowed for each train set that has a 1,100-person capacity.

LRT authorities urged the public to purchase stored value cards to avoid spending more time at the cash register.

Meanwhile at the LRT2, authorities observed a much lower volume of passengers.

Hernando Cabrera from the LRT Authority said. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LDF, GMA News
