HPG cops scold PUV drivers for passengers without face shields
Operatives of the PNP-Highway Patrol Group (HPG) on Wednesday scolded and gave tickets to public utility vehicle drivers that who had passengers not wearing face shields amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras,” the Department of Transportation has mandated the use of face shields, along with face masks, for all passengers using any mode of public transportation.
Ticket-an na ito,” an officer said.
Meanwhile, the commuters without face shields were asked to get off the vehicle. They were then reprimanded by authorities and given free face shields.
Some drivers also seemed to forget that they may only load half of their passenger capacity.
— Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
