Another "free for all scuffle" erupted at the New Bilibid Prison Monday morning, exactly one month after a deadly riot between members of two rival gangs and a search that yielded hundreds of hidden "weapons," the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.

The BuCor Public Information Office (PIO) said the incident started at around 8:39 a.m. at the maximum security compound.

It did not say whether the incident has ended, who were involved, or how many were hurt.

BuCor Director General Gerald Bantag is "on top of the situation" and is giving instructions to the response team, the PIO said. BuCor personnel at the national headquarters were evacuated.

"Investigation will be conducted to identify the cause of the incident. Disciplinary measures will be imposed to those who are responsible," it said.
