Operations of the Pasig River Ferry Service is suspended indefinitely due to the effects of Typhoon Ulysses.

The suspension of operations will start on Monday, November 16, "until further notice," according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

The management said pontoons of several stations of the ferry service were damaged by the typhoon, which lashed Metro Manila and other Luzon areas last week.

"Pontoon in Guadalupe, Hulo, Valenzuela, Pinagbuhatan, and San Joaquin stations were damaged as Ulysses lashed Metro Manila last week," the MMDA said.

A pontoon, according to the MMDA, serves as a docking platform of the ferry boats.

The MMDA said the suspension of operations aims to assure the riding public of safety in riding the ferry. —KBK, GMA News
