One dead in fire in residential area in Las Piñas City

One person died when fire broke out on Saturday morning in a residential area in Las Piñas City.

The victim was a child, according to a report by Luisito Santos on Dobol B sa News TV.

Investigation showed the fire started past 10 a.m. in the ceiling of the second floor of the victim's house in Fatima Subdivision in Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno.

The mother of the victim initially thought her child was able to get out of the house in time and was with his sibling.

However when she realized he was not with them, the mother attempted to go back to the house, but the fire was already spreading.

The victim was trapped in the burning house.

The fire reached the second alarm before it was put out.

Affected were around 50 families and 25 houses made of light materials. —KG, GMA News
