Community learning hub in Pasig fills distance learning gaps
Despite the pandemic, students in Pasig City can still meet with tutors face to face inside a small community learning hub set up in a bid to fill the gaps in distance learning.
According to Ian Cruz’ “24 Oras” report on Monday, only 10 people are allowed inside a community learning hub in Pinagbuhatan, which only has six cubicles for students.
Inside the hub, students can seek tutors’ help in understanding lessons in their modules.
Up to 73 first to sixth graders go to the hub a few times a week for 90 minutes to learn from over 20 volunteer tutors.
Health and safety protocols against COVID-19 are also strictly enforced inside the hub.
The project, an initiative of the Office of the Vice President, Pasig City government, and the private sector, has the Department of Education’s (DepEd) seal of approval.
— Julia Mari Ornedo/DVM, GMA News
