Zamora sees 5,000 registrations for San Juan’s COVID vaccination program so far

At least 4,000 San Juan City residents have signed up online for the city's free COVID-19 vaccination program as of Tuesday.

In a press briefing, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said that 4,049 have signed up as of 2:36 p.m. today, but that he expects the actual number to be 5,000 because some have opted for manual registration. He had announced the online registration program on Sunday.

"Wala hong prejudice ang listahan natin to any social status. Basta ang ginagawa ho namin, we are preparing for the entire population of San Juan," he said.

"Now if people will opt to buy on their own or go to any of their private medical facilities, puwede naman po. Kung dumating yung punto na kahit yung, sabihin natin, may kaya ay gusto nila na mag-avail po nito, then puwedeng-puwede naman ho siya," Zamora said.

San Juan is one of several cities that have allotted funds for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines for their residents. It has allocated P50 million for the purpose. — BM, GMA News
