Robbers meet different fates after hitting courier service in QC
A suspect was killed, another escaped and a third one was arrested after they robbed a branch of a courier service in Quezon City.
According to Marisol Abdurahman’s report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the robbery led to an encounter with the police and resulted in the death of one of the suspects.
CCTV footage showed that police chased the suspects after the robbery of the LBC branch on Matalino Street.
One of the suspects opened fire prompting the police to shoot back, killing him. Another escaped.
Police arrested one of them, Leonardo Abando, and recovered P50,000 of the loot.
“Nandoon sa malapit ‘yong mga patrols natin so kaagad na nakaresponde at na-engage itong grupo na ‘to,” QC Police District director Police Brigadier General Danilo Macerin said.
Authorities said the rest of the money was with the suspect still at large.
LBC said it already coordinated with authorities regarding the matter.
Abando, meanwhile, will face charges for robbery and illegal possession of firearms. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
