Taguig’s contact tracing tool expanded for vaccination, other social services
The local government of Taguig City has expanded its contact tracing tool to a registry for other services being offered in the city.
According to Mayor Lino Cayetano, its contact tracing tool, Taguig Registry for Assessment and City Engagements (TRACE), can now be used in other services such as vaccination, other health benefits, and social services.
He called on city residents, workers and even visitors of the city to register and generate a QR code. He said registration could be done through the application available in Android and iOS, website application, or self-service kiosks and door-to-door registration procedure.
"The TRACE QR code serves as a personal digital identification and health declaration form. The Taguig City Hall and other establishments have been using the TRACE QR code for contact tracing purposes," Cayetano said in a statement.
"In the following weeks, the city will be partnering with establishments to unify efforts on contact tracing," Cayetano added.
Cayetano said the TRACE QR code would serve as a prerequisite in getting vaccinated for COVID-19 in Taguig as it will create a more centralized citizen's database, which will be used as an accurate reference for the vaccine rollout in the city.
"With the help of TRACE, it will be easier for Taguigeños to access the city government’s programs and services especially those in health and socio-economic benefits like cash gifts, scholarships and other forms of assistance," he said.
