Bound corpse left in Caloocan barangay

The body of an alleged drug pusher was left on the streets of a barangay in Caloocan City on Friday, according to Corrine Catibayan’s report on “24 Oras Weekend.”

CCTV footage recorded two men wearing black jackets getting off a white van at Barangay 75. They opened the trunk of their vehicle while another male served as a lookout.

After the suspects drove away in their vehicle a body was left on the street. The victim’s feet were bound while a sign that proclaimed the victim as a drug pusher was hanging on his chest.

The victim's bloody head was wrapped in packaging tape.

Empty ammunition casings were also recovered at the scene.

Barangay officials said the victim had been living in the neighborhood for six months.

“Pero pinababantayan ko na ‘yan dahil alam kong nagbebenta ng droga. Nakikita rin sa CCTV na ‘yun nga nag aabutan. Talagang positive na nag bebenta,” Barangay Captain Augosto Nadal said.

(I had the victim watched because I knew that he was selling drugs. There's CCTV footage of deals being made. It’s positive that he was selling.)

Nadal said the victim was previously arrested. However, it was not clear if it was related to drugs.

Police are nevertheless investigating the motive behind the crime as well as the identity of the suspects. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
