QC cop nabbed for robbing Bulacan remittance center
A policeman from Quezon City Police District (QCPD) was arrested after robbing a remittance center in Bulacan.
In a "24 Oras" report by Emil Sumangil, CCTV footage showed Police Corporal Moises Yango, who is wearing a helmet, stealing money from a helpless cashier at a remittance center in San Miguel.
Using his black motorcycle, Yango left the area, carrying an undetermined amount of money.
Subsequently, Bulacan police received the report and immediately conducted a manhunt operation against Yango.
At 3:30 p.m., authorities discovered Yango, who was about to allegedly steal cash at another remittance center in San Ildefonso.
Confiscated from the arrested suspect were firearms, the stolen cash, ammunition, explosives and his QCPD ID.
Police said Yango was also previously involved in a robbery at a remittance center in Nueva Ecija.
According to the suspect, he resorted to the illegal act after losing cash from an online sabong and pyramid scheme.
Yango said he regretted stealing money from the remittance centers.
Yango is currently detained and will face complaints of robbery and violation of Republic Act 9156 for illegal possession of explosives.
PNP chief General Guillermo Eleazar, for his part, vowed that Yango will face appropriate cases and will soon be dismissed from police service.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
