The 'red hat' ceremony of Cardinal Jose Advincula has been rescheduled to next week in Roxas City, according to a post of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.

The rite has already been postponed twice due to reasons related to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The post quoted a report by Radio Veritas, the Church-back radio station, adding that local health and church authorities will hold the event with a limited number of participants.

The ceremony, which will be held on the 18th of June at 3:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Cathedral, will be led by Papal nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown.

The ceremony was rescheduled after a surge in COVID-19 cases in Roxas City and when Archbishop Brown had to undergo 14-day quarantine after a trip to the US.

The installation of Cardinal Advincula as the 33rd Archbishop of Manila is on June 24. -- BAP, GMA News
