Unaware that she was selling COVID-19 vaccines to the nurse whose identity she stole, a 35-year-old woman on Thursday was arrested in an entrapment operation in Pasay City.

According to Jonathan Andal’s report on “24 Oras,” the suspect, identified as Michelle Parajes, would introduced herself to her victims as Dayrelle Esteban, a licensed nurse.

Esteban said the suspect also stole her Professional Regulatory Commission ID, which she once uploaded on social media.

“Kung ano ‘yung blinur ko doon sa pinost ko sa Facebook, same as ‘yung sinend niya. Hindi na ako magpo-post sa Facebook, publicly,” she said.

(She sent the same photo that I posted on Facebook before. I will no longer post on Facebook, publicly.)

The suspect would sell a vial of COVID-19 vaccines for P2,000.

Police authorities tried ordering 56 vials from the woman but never got any.

Authorities also arrested Angelo Bunganay, her live-in-partner, who she was with during her arrest.

Though her partner denied knowledge of the crime, Parajes confessed to it.

“May problema kasi ako. ‘Yung mama ko may sakit sa puso tapos ako, buntis ako ngayon. Kaya nawalan ako ng trabaho. Hinihingi ko lang na sana mapatawad niyo ko. Hindi ko na talaga uulitin ‘yung ganito,” she said.

(I have a problem. My mother has a heart disease and I’m also pregnant. That’s why I lost my job. I’m asking for forgiveness. I swear I won’t do this again.)

The suspects may face charges for swindling and identity theft. -Joahna Lei Casilao/MDM, GMA News
