San Juan opens COVID-19 vaccinations for kids aged 5 to 11

The San Juan City government on Monday expanded the registration for COVID-19 inoculations to children aged 5 to 11 years old in a bid to protect its population against the disease.

According to Mark Makalalad's report over GTV's Balitanghali, about 1,000 children were already registered at San Juan's online portal.

Those interested to get inoculated may register at https://vaxreg.sanjuancity.gov.ph/vaccine_registration/public/

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said they were strictly enforcing a no walk-in policy to ensure that health protocols are being followed inside the vaccination centers.

Meanwhile, the mayor said they would soon release an ordinance to restrict the movement of unvaccinated people following a Metro Manila Council agreement that unvaccinated people would only be allowed to buy essential goods and services.

For Zamora, the ordinance will not be discriminatory as it will also help protect the population from the severe respiratory disease. — Consuelo Marquez/DVM, GMA News
