COVID-19 vaccination available at PITX for commuters, transport workers

Commuters and transport workers may now get their jabs during the five-day COVID-19 vaccination drive launched on Monday at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange in Parañaque City.

Priority however will be given to those who have not yet received booster shots, according to a report by Bam Alegre on Unang Balita on Monday.

The vaccination dubbed 'We Vax as One: Mobile Vaccination Drive' is being conducted at Gate 4 on the second floor of PITX from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Spearheaded by the Department of Transportation, Department of Health, and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the drive targets inoculating 500 individuals per day from January 24 to 28, 2022.

AstraZeneca is the brand being used during the vaccination drive.

Walk-in vaccinees are accommodated, which was welcomed by commuters.

The national government is eyeing to utilize transportation hubs as COVID-19 vaccination sites, testing czar Secretary Vivencio "Vince" Dizon said on Friday.

Dizon mentioned that aside from work places, ports and stations could also be used as additional areas for the inoculation of the public against COVID-19.

At least 57 million Filipinos are already fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 while some 60 million received their first dose, he said.

Dizon added that six million already received their booster shots. —KG, GMA News
