Makati City announces road closure, traffic rerouting for Bar exams
The Makati City government on Thursday announced road closure and traffic rerouting in line with this year’s Bar examinations.
In an advisory, the local government said the Makati Public Safety Department will implement road closure in the stretch of J.P. Rizal street extension from Buting to Lawton Avenue on February 4 and 6 from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m.
“The stretch of J.P. Rizal St. Ext. from Buting to Lawton Ave. is closed to traffic except for vehicles carrying examinees and concerned employees,” the Makati City local government said.
“Only designated loading and unloading areas are available. No parking space is provided,” it added.
The local government said the examinees must present an exam permit for the entrance of their service vehicle.
Meanwhile, the public is advised to take the following alternate routes:
Vehicles from Buting/ Pateros
- Take Kalayaan Avenue to Guadalupe-EDSA or
- Take Lawton Avenue to JP Rizal-EDSA
Vehicles from Guadalupe-EDSA
- Take Lawton-Kalayaan Avenue to Buting
The Supreme Court has adjusted by a few minutes the afternoon schedule on the first day of the Bar examinations.
Justice Associate Marvic Leonen said the examinations will be held from 1:50 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. on Friday, February 4.
The morning examination hours on February 4 as well as the second day of the examinations will proceed as scheduled.—Richa Noriega/AOL, GMA News
