EDSA Bus Carousel drivers, conductors hold rally over delayed salaries
A group of EDSA Carousel bus drivers and conductors is appealing for the release of their salaries, GMA News' Bam Alegre reported on Unang Balita on Monday.
The group, which held a protest rally on EDSA Kamuning early Monday morning, said their salaries have been delayed since May 2021. They pegged the total unreleased salary to P20 million.
Police were deployed to the area to maintain peace and order, ensure the protesters' observance to health and safety protocols, and maintain smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
Norberto Vizconde, one of the protesters, accused the government of being in collusion with the bus operators.
Shortly after gathering, the group left EDSA Kamuning and marched toward the office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
The LTFRB and the concerned bus operators have yet to issue a statement regarding the issue, according to the report. —KBK, GMA News
