PDEA, Customs raid shabu lab in Caloocan City

Personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Bureau of Customs (BOC) raided an alleged shabu laboratory in Caloocan City.

According to Mai Bermudez’s “Saksi” report on Friday, authorities seized imported chemicals, ingredients, and paraphernalia used in making shabu in a house in Libis Gochuico Street, Caloocan City.

They also found a liquid shabu stored inside a refrigerator.

The police said no one was arrested during the operation, adding that several suspects involved in the operation of the shabu lab were nabbed last March 9 in a buy-bust operation in Cubao, Quezon City.

Meanwhile, a Chinese national was arrested for possession of 160 kilograms of shabu in Valenzuela City.

Authorities said the seized illegal drugs were finished products from the Caloocan laboratory.

“In front of you are various chemicals which we believe are being used in the manufacture of illegal drugs. There are finished products found and residues that you can see in the paraphernalias out there,” PDEA Deputy Director General Gregorio Pimentel said.

“Inside you can see the finished product in the form of liquid shabu,” he added.

The PDEA believed that the arrested Chinese national was part of a large syndicate in the Philippines and Asia.—LDF, GMA News
