Brother of Teves son in guard mauling: Mag-peace na tayo, bos

The family of Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr. has reached out to ask for forgiveness from the security guard who was mauled by one of his sons and several companions over the weekend.

According to Katrina Son's report on "24 Oras", Axl Teves said his brother Kurt felt bad for the incident which happened after he was refused entry into their subdivision because his SUV didn't have the required sticker.

Axl said Kurt wanted to personally talk to village watchman Jomar Pajares to apologize.

Pajares has said that he feared for his safety and that of his family after the incident.

“Hihingi po kami ng patawad sa lahat ng pagkakamali ng brother ko. ‘Yung brother ko po mismo kakausap sayo. Sasamahan ko. I understand natatakot ka dahil naging malaking issue na ito pero in behalf of my family and my brother Kurt I want you to know na willing na willing kami na kumausap sayo nang maayos kung saan mo gusto. Isama po ko kung sino ka comfortable,” Axl said.

(He’s very sad about the incident. We talked brother-to-brother and I said we should fix this.)

“We will ask for his forgiveness. My brother will talk to him and I will be there. I understand he’s scared because this has become a big issue but on behalf of my family and brother Kurt, I want him to know that we’re willing to talk to him anywhere. He can also bring people he’s comfortable with.”)

Axl clarified his brother is ready to face the repercussions of his actions and said their family would not intimidate or prevent Pajares from filing charges.

However, they want to talk to him to have “peace” between them.

“Boss, hindi ko sinasabi na kausapin ka namain para hindi ka na magkaso or whatever. Ang mali po ay mali. Pero ang gusto namin as human beings, mag-peace na po tayo,” he said.

(Boss, I’m not saying we’re going to talk to you to stop you from filing cases. What is wrong is wrong. But as human beings, we want to have peace.)

He then appealed to netizens to leave their other family members out of the incident stressing  Kurt is an “adult” who should be held  “responsible for his actions.”

“Before anything, bago tayo manghusga alamin muna natin ang full story. ‘Yun ang pinaka important and I’m asking the netizens please avoid including other family members of Kurt because hindi naman kami kasali sa nangyari. Not even my father, because Kurt is an adult. He is responsible of his actions not my family,” Axl said.

(Before anything, before you judge, you should know the full story  — that’s the most important part. I’m asking the netizens, please avoid including other family members of Kurt because we’re not involved in the incident. Not even my father. Kurt is an adult. He is responsible for his actions, not my family.)

The BF Federation of Homeowners Associations Inc. (BFFHAI)  welcomed Axl’s intent but maintained it wants to file the necessary charges first. It also refused to grant GMA News an interview with Pajares after the guard said he is fearing for his safety and that of his family after the incident.

“Magandang move sa kanila kung ipapakita nilang yung ganoon. Syempre sa ngayon kasi masyado pa yung ating guwardiya, traumatized sya. So siguro some other time, hindi pa ngayon,” Atty. Delfin Supapo Jr., BFFHAI chairman of legal committee, said.

(It is a good move from their part… but it is still too early for our guard. He’s still traumatized. Maybe some other time but not now.) —NB, GMA News
