Several LGUs declare June 30 as special non-working holiday for Marcos’ inauguration

The city governments of Pasay, San Juan, Navotas, and the municipality of Pateros have declared June 30, Thursday, as a special non-working holiday for the inauguration of president-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano signed Executive Order No. 38 declaring a special non-working holiday to “ensure the safety of residents” in the city due to road closures and protest rallies during the inauguration of Marcos.

The mayor, however, said that the Pasay City Treasurer’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept payments for the last day of availing tax amnesty.

Meanwhile, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora also issued Executive Order No. 125 declaring a special non-working holiday to “help ensure the safety of all citizens and a smooth flow of traffic” in the city.

Navotas City mayor Toby Tiangco, on the other hand, also released Executive Order No. 67 declaring a special non-working holiday throughout the city.

The municipality of Pateros also declared June 30 as a special non-working holiday, according to Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya.

Earlier on June 24, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno also signed Executive Order No. 53 declaring a special non-working holiday in Manila City “to ensure the safety, security, and protection of participants” in Marcos’ inauguration.

Marcos will take his oath as the 17th president of the Philippines on June 30 at the National Museum of the Philippines  in Manila.
