Admin aide dies after falling from Palace's Mabini Hall

A person working in the Malacañang compound died after falling from the fourth floor of Mabini Hall, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said on Thursday.

At a press briefing, Angeles identified the victim as Mario Castro, an administrative aide assigned at the Information Communications Technology Office under the Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Accounting.

Angeles said Castro's death is being investigated. She also expressed sympathies to the family of the victim.

"Kasalukuyang iniimbestigahan ang kanyang pagkamatay at nagko-coordinate ang Presidential Security Group at ang PNP Security Force Unit. May naiwang asawa at mga anak si Mr. Castro. Kami po ay nakikiramay sa kanyang pamilya," she said.

A police report stated Castro showed up at the workplace at 5:50 a.m. A security guard then heard a loud thud and saw Castro already on the ground.

Castro was taken immediately to the UERM hospital for treatment, but he passed away due to his injuries. —AOL/VBL, GMA News
