QC residents warned about medical certificates with invalid signatures

The local government of Quezon City has warned its residents about medical certificates with invalid signatures.

The Quezon City local government issued the warning after reports that one of its medical technologists, named Bernard Yumang, was being used as a "certifying physician for medical certificates."

"Please be informed that medical technologists are not authorized to issue medical certificates. Thus, any medical certificate bearing Mr. Yumang's name is therefore considered invalid and should not be honored," the local government said in an advisory released on Monday night.

According to the local government, all medical certificates with the Quezon City Health Department’s logo are only issued in the 66 health centers in the city.

It also urged the public to report those individuals issuing invalid medical certificates to the Quezon City Health Department at cityhealth@quezoncity.gov.ph or call Hotline 122. —Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
