A man in Quezon City is facing parricide charges after he admitted to choking his wife to death during an argument, according to James Agustin's report on Unang Balita on Friday.

The victim, May Encinares, was found dead inside their home on Tuesday morning by her parents.

Patay na [They saw her lying on the floor lifeless]," Police Corporal Rasul Monib, case investigator, said.

The victim's husband, Ralph Miguel Encinares, turned himself in to the police and admitted to his crime.

According to him, he awoke early Tuesday morning to find his wife's hands around his neck.

(I tried to get her to stop, but she would not listen. I could see her rage, and she said she would not stop.)

He said he fought back and choked his wife, stopping only when she passed out. It was later on that he realized that she was dead.

Before surrendering to the police, Encinares brought their two children to their grandparents.

Encinares said it was not the first time his wife had become angry at him.

(Her pent-up emotions and our past problems, when she remembers them, those trigger her.)

Encinares, meanwhile, expressed concern over their two children, who are now left without a parent. —Alzel Laguardia/KBK, GMA News
