3 hurt after dump truck crashes into junk shop in Quezon City

Three persons were hurt after a dump truck crashed into a junk shop along Batasan-San Mateo road in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City early Thursday morning, Luisito Santos reported on Super Radyo DZBB.

The injured persons include the driver of the dump truck, his companion, and a woman.

The owner of the junk shop said they were fast asleep when they heard a loud crash around 4:40 a.m. The found out that a truck crashed into the junk shop, which is just beside their house.

According to the initial investigation by officials of Barangay Batasan Hills, the truck hit an electric post before crashing into the shop.

At present, there is a power outage in the area and a portion of the Batasan-San Mateo road was closed to traffic.

As a result, vehicles coming from the IBP Road and are on their way to Marikina and San Mateo in Rizal will not be able to use the thoroughfare. Vehicles coming from the opposite direction can use the zipper lane that was set up by Barangay officials.
