7-year-old injured after fall from fourth floor of school in Navotas

A 7-year-old student was injured after falling from the fourth floor of a school in Navotas City, according to Chino Gaston’s “24 Oras” report on Friday.

Jason Venezuela, father of the Grade 1 student, said the child followed her mother who volunteered in a Brigada Eskwela program held in the San Rafael Village Elementary School, which was located near their house.

(My wife did not know that our child followed her to school. The child was trapped inside the CR, then while looking for a way out thought of passing through the window).

The utility man, Roderick Ballad, said he saw the victim after he heard a loud sound coming from behind the school.

(The child must have fallen in this area because of the loud sound that I heard. The child could not speak because of a wound near the jaw. I carried the student and was met by the two other utility workers. The child was brought to the Tondo Medical Center for treatment.)

The management of the school has pledged to help the parents of the victim on the hospital expenses.

The student is undergoing treatment and is safe at the Tondo Medical Center.
