Fire breaks out in residential area in Pasay City

A fire hit a residential area in Pasay City on Wednesday evening, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

A report from the BFP-National Capital Region Public Information Office said the fire along E. Rodriguez Street in Barangay 144 broke out at 7:23 p.m.

The fire reached the second alarm at 7:36 p.m. and escalated to the third alarm at 7:50 p.m.

At least 9 fire trucks and 2 ambulances responded to the incident, the BFP said.

The fire reached the third alarm and was declared under control a few minutes after 9 p.m.

In the report on "State of the Nation," some residents said the fire may have started from unattended rice that was being cooked.

Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and the cost of damage. -- BAP, GMA News
