Passengers snap up tickets at PITX as New Year’s exodus gains steam
Some bus companies at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) have run out of tickets due to the influx of passengers leaving for the provinces in time for the New Year.
According to Joseph Morong's report on "24 Oras," PITX expected over 120,000 passengers on Thursday and even more until Saturday, New Year's Eve.
“Lahat po walk-in, wala pong reservation,” said ticket seller Steph Escol.
According to the PITX management, bus rides will still be available on New Year's Eve, but operations will be limited.
"Medyo limited na 'yon by 10 p.m., medyo wala na yung mga biyahe, siguro at most hanggang 9 p.m. tayo pero yung malalapit na lang, " said PITX spokesperson Jason Salvador. "Mostly Cavite, Batangas. Bigger volume would be on January 2, yung pagbabalik nila."
PITX also prohibits including firecrackers in luggage due to the risk of fire. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA Integrated News
