Tricycle drivers start getting P1K fuel subsidy
Tricycle drivers from Quezon City have started receiving the P1,000 fuel subsidy, a program of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) amid the high prices of fuel products.
According to a report by Raffy Tima on "24 Oras," LTFRB and Landbank, which released the money, said that the fuel assistance would be given to some 10,300 tricycle drivers across Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and Central Luzon.
The Quezon City Tricycle Regulatory Division (QC-TRD) on Thursday said it has submitted the names of over 23,000 registered tricycle drivers in the city as beneficiaries.
Well, hindi naman po namin sila masagot kasi nga po ito ay programa ng national government,” said Benjamin Ibon, QC-TRD head.
A tricycle driver, Genlie Pesico, said he almost forgot about the fuel subsidy since he had waited so long to receive it. He said he was surprised when he received P1,000 in his mobile account.
The LTFRB said it is still processing all the submissions.
—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
