PDEA: Over P12.2M worth of imported shabu seized in Mandaluyong op

Authorities seized 1,808 grams of imported shabu worth P12,240,000 in a controlled delivery operation in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

In a statement on Friday, the PDEA said the 42-year-old consignee was arrested in the operation.

The shipment containing the illegal drug was imported from San Jose in the United States and arrived at the Port of Clark in the Philippines on May 9, the PDEA said.

The anti-drug agency said its International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service from foreign counterparts provided the information about the illegal shipment.

The PDEA Clark Inter Agency Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Custom Port of Clark, PDEA-National Capital Region, and the local police worked together for the operation.

The consignee will face charges for violation of the Section 4 or the importation of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PDEA said.  —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA Integrated News
