Fire in Valenzuela warehouse displaces over 100 families

Over 100 families were affected by a fire that hit a warehouse in Barangay Bagbagin, Valenzuela City, on Thursday afternoon.

According to Chino Gaston's report on "24 Oras," 118 families from three barangays were affected, but no casualties were reported.  They are temporarily staying in an evacuation center.

The fire started at 12:30 p.m. and reached the Task Force Bravo at 2:03 p.m. The authorities are still trying to put out the fire by 6:40 p.m., according to the report.

"It's a warehouse na medyo maalaki na, 90's warehouse na may supply po ng paint materials, stinger and hardware. Mag-4 to five hours na kami, and then kumalat na sa neighboring warehouse," said Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gatchalian.

“Doon sa warehouse, wala naman masyadong tao naman doon. No casualty also, and nagpauwi naman ng trabahador in that company, 260 ang employees nila that time, sa awa ng Diyos everybody’s okay,” he added.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
