Manila orders half-day work for city government offices on Oct. 31

The city government of Manila on Friday declared a half-day work suspension for city government offices on October 31.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuña Pangan issued Executive Order No. 35, mandating non-frontline city government offices to only operate until 12 noon on Tuesday to allow ample travel time for employees observing the All Saint’s Day.

"Especially [to] those that have dearly departed ones buried in the provinces, and to allow them travel time to spend this Filipino tradition with relatives and loved ones, half-day work on the eve of All Saints’ Day for all city government employees is declared," read Executive Order no. 35.

Meanwhile, suspensions in national government offices and private holding offices have been left to the discretion of the management. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
