PNP asks truck driver to file complaint vs. motorist in road rage
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday encouraged the truck driver to file a complaint against the SUV driver who allegedly threatened him in a road rage in Taguig City.
In a press conference, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said the truck driver claimed the man in the SUV introduced himself as a police officer.
The trucker added that the SUV driver threatened to shoot him, Fajardo added.
“Iyong biktima doon ay nag-pablotter about that incident na sinasabi niya ay nagpakilala nga daw na pulis ito at sinasabi na kukunin iyong baril ko particularly service firearm ko at babarilin kita at alam ko kung saan ka nakatira,” Fajardo said.
(The victim declared in a blotter he filed that the SUV driver introduced himself as a cop and threatened to get his service firearm and shoot him.)
“We hope na iyong biktima natin dito ay sana po ay ma-convince na mag-file ng case laban dito kasi kailangan po natin ang kaniyang testimony,” she said.
(We hope the victim can be convinced to file a case, we need his testimony.)
According to Fajardo, the PNP has identified the owner of the SUV. She said the registered owner of the vehicle is not a member of the police organization.
“Lumalabas na hindi ito pulis based doon sa ating database ng mga active PNP personnel (It turns out that the SUV owner was not a police officer based on the database of active PNP personnel),” she said.
Fajardo said the incident happened along C-5 Road - Southbound in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City on November 25 at 11:30 a.m.
In a viral video taken by the truck driver, the SUV driver can be seen alighting his vehicle in the middle of the road and approaching him.
