Woman falls victim to fake plane ticket scam

A woman and her son failed to board a plane bound for General Santos City after buying a fake flight ticket.

Adelyn Carsada and her son were supposed to travel on Saturday morning based on the flight ticket she bought online for P4,000.

(The problem, though, was that their computer system did not show the flight reservation.)

(I was blocked on social media by the woman who sold me the ticket.)

Carsada said she only borrowed the money to buy the fake plane ticket. And since she couldn't afford to buy another, she borrowed money again to purchase a ticket for a sea trip at the Northport Terminal.

(I came here because the plane ticket now costs over P10,000).

However, the earliest trip they got was on Tuesday morning.

(We just have to wait because that's the cheapest option for us. It's hard because we no longer have money and allowance.)

(I feel bad for my child. Our situation is difficult. If this is just me, that's okay, but my child is also affected.)

Like Carsada, many Filipinos began traveling to different parts of the country to spend the holidays.

Authorities said they expect more travelers to flock to transport terminals in the coming days.  —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
