PH repatriates 27 Vietnamese trafficking victims

The Philippine government has sent home 27 Vietnamese nationals who were rescued from human trafficking in October, Nico Waje reported on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

The Vietnamese nationals were among the 34 foreigners intercepted by Philippine authorities on October 31 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.

The foreigners were supposed to be sold to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) company in Cebu.

Of the total number, 31 were Vietnamese nationals while three were Chinese. They were all employees of a POGO company in Parañaque City.

The foreigners were rescued after one of them sought the attention of authorities. A Chinese national, who was believed to be the boss, and a Malaysian were arrested.  —KBK, GMA Integrated News
