Cops name suspects in beheading of guard at car dealership

Police on Monday named the two suspects who allegedly beheaded a car dealership's security guard last December 25, Raffy Tima reported on 24 Oras.

The suspects were identified as Michael Caballero and Joemar Ragos, co-workers of the 50-year-old victim Alfredo Tabing at the dealership.

According to police, the suspects allegedly wanted to rob the dealership as there was a recent major sale, and the office safe had a substantial amount of money.

"Noong [December] 23 kasi, nakapagbenta yung agent dyan ng dalawang sasakyan. So as empleyado dyan, malalaman mo yan, lalo na yung isa ay driver at yung isa naman ay barista yung suspek natin dyan," explained Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit-Quezon City Police District chief Police Major Don Llapitan.

While there was no security camera footage of the crime, a witness allegedly saw the two suspects and two other accomplices carry off the office vault.

Police also speculated that Tabing may have tried to prevent the theft.

"Sa ating assessment, maaaring ayaw ng guwardiya or pinigilan niya yung krimen na gagawin, kasi kakilala niya eh. Siguro nagtiwala siya, kaya walang struggle kung saan siya namatay. At walang forced entry," added Llapitan.

The CIDU-QCPD was working with the local government of the locality where the suspects were believed to be hiding.

Meanwhile, the victim's wife, Dolores Tabing, said that her late husband believed that the suspects were his friends.

"Sobrang sakit po kasi yung asawa po ko po laging kinukuwento yang jomar na yan, eh," said Dolores, who also urged the suspects to turn themselves in.

"Sumuko na po sila. Kung wala silang kasalanan, eh di masasabi nila yung side nila. Pero kung ano man sana, makonsensya naman sila sa ginawa nila sa asawa ko," she added.
