Two bicycles and cycling gear estimated to be worth P100,000 were stolen from a residence in Taguig City over the weekend, with the victim willing to give a reward for the return of the missing items.

The unidentified suspect was caught on video surveillance alighting from a taxi along F. Manalo Street past 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, and headed straight to the garage where the bicycles were located.

He then used a screwdriver to force his way into the locked gate, and took some 30 minutes to steal the items while the owner and nearby residents were asleep.

“Napakaconfident niyang pumasok. Dire-diretso siya dito. Meron nga akong lock diyan eh, ginawa niya parang dinistrongka niya,” John Ordoñez, the owner of the items, said in a report on GMA’s 24 Oras Weekend on Sunday.

(He was very confident when he entered, and went straight ahead. I had a lock there, and it looks like he  destroyed it.)

The thief — suspected by the victim to have long planned the theft — left with two bikes and helmets, along with an apartment key.

The victim said he is hoping to retrieve the items and is willing to give a reward for their return.—Jon Viktor Cabuenas/RF, GMA Integrated News
