CALAX chop-chop victim identified

Authorities have identified the decapitated man whose remains were found at the Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAX) in Silang, Cavite.

According to Saleema Refran’s report on 24 Oras Wednesday, the dismembered victim was discovered inside a garbage bag thrown along the expressway in Barangay Kaong on Monday. The torso was missing its head and all its limbs.

The victim’s family, which has been looking for the man for the past two weeks,  identified the victim through a yin and yang tattoo on his chest.

(The victim sustained three fatal stab wounds to the chest. The cuts on his chest and on the missing body parts were clean through.)

Citing information from the family, police said the man was a 23-year-old Quezon City resident who was allegedly involved in an illegal drug case.

“Ang recollection ng live in partner, March 3 sila last nagkita. According to the family, sinamahan siya ng tatlong tao,” Gonzaga added.

(His live-in partner said she last saw him on March 3. The victim went to an acquaintance’s house at around 12 p.m. and was accompanied by another person. The family said there were three people with him at the time.)

Authorities are now conducting backtracking CCTV footage of several areas as they continue to search for the victim’s missing body parts.

Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) are likewise probing the incident after a decapitated body, identified to be a Chinese national, was also found in Carmona, Cavite last month.
