Rider punctures tire of van in road altercation

The police are tracking down a motorcycle rider captured in a viral video puncturing the tire of a vehicle during an altercation with its driver.

In the uploaded video, the rider appears to be arguing with the driver of a utility van at a stoplight along East Avenue, Quezon City. 

He pulls out a pointed object and thrusts it into the right front wheel of the van. 

The rider flees while the van driver pulls to the side of the road as the punctured tire quickly loses air pressure. 

Police investigators were dispatched to look for the suspect and gather additional pieces of evidence, according to Police Major Mike Diaz, deputy chief of Station 10 of the QC Police District. 

“Mas mapadali ito kasi nakuha ang plaka ng motor,” said Diaz. 

“Base sa initial investigation ng mga imbestigador natin, parang nagkaroon ng konting gitgitan kaya nagkainitan kaya umabot sa ganitong punto,” Diaz said. 

The police are appealing to the van driver to file a formal complaint. 

“Lalabas dyan malicious mischief, 'yun ang kaso ng naka-motor na sumira ng gulong,” said Diaz.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
